Dianbei Fm
Type Locality and Naming
It is named by the Jiangxi Party of Regional Geological Survey in 1963. The type section is at Dianbei of Chuantan, north of the Wuning County seat in Jiangxi Province. It was first quoted by the Jiangxi Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources in 1984.
Synonym: (殿背组)
Lithology and Thickness
It is 735 m in thickness, consisted by grey green, yellow green sandy shale, siltstone and mudstone intercalated with sandstone; there is a thin bed of quartz sandstone with ripple marks at the base of the formation.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
The formation conformably contacts with the underlying Lishuwo Fm of the uppermost Ordovician-Early Ordovician.
Upper contact
The formation conformably contacts with the overlying Qingshui Fm
Regional extent
It is exposed in northwest Jiangxi to southeast Hubei.

Fossils
It yields rare fossils. The bivalve Modiolopsis, Modiomorpha and trilobite Latiproetus are the only finds in the formation.
